Directory of Supporting Documents

In this directory you will find copies of the documents we have used in the development of this web site; we have placed them on the web so you can inspect the facts without hearing our opinion.

We will eventually have documents from the Deparment of Environmental Quality, the Tech Budget office, copy of correspondence between Tech and DEQ, and environmental law.

Heres an index:

• Overview of the Talloires agreement, in which Virginia Tech demonstrates leadership by making a formal commitment to environmental protection.
• The working group report on environmental issues at Tech.
• Emissions calculations for the 1948 boiler (This boiler will be taken offline).
• Emissions calculations for the 1955 boiler (Avilable at this web site on 1/22/97).
• A very informative Permit Analysis for the new boiler, with some information on the old boilers.
• Preliminary draft of the resolution submitted to the Tech Student Government Association by TREE.

Most of these documents were obtained from the DEQ, Tech Library, or Tech administrators, and needed to be scanned before being placed online. Since we don't have convenient access to high-quality software, documents were scanned with interesting errors, such as the #6 Road Goiter and #7 Coat Softer (both were "Coal Boiler").

Since we are still in the process of obtaining and scanning these documents, we may inadvertantly place documents with scanning errors online.
