KPilot Homepage

KPilot is a replacement for the Palm Desktop software from PalmSource Inc., which makes your PalmOS powered handheld (e.g., a Palm Zire 31) capable of exchanging information with your KDE powered computer. KPilot doesn't replace the Palm Desktop all by itself. It connects and integrates a number of fine KDE 3.x applications such as Kontact into a package that can do everything the Palm Desktop can, and more.

What's new?

Who

Like most open-source projects, KPilot is supported by a cast of thousands. Well, tens of folks at least have contributed patches, screenshots, and advice. They are listed in the documentation and the about box in KPilot itself, as well as—as far as possible—on the contribute page. The people responsible for KPilot are:

KPilot project originator: Dan Pilone
KPilot maintainer: Adriaan de Groot (blog)
KPilot hacker/real programmer: Jason 'vanRijn' Kasper (homepage)
Former KPilot maintainer: Reinhold Kainhofer (homepage)

GPG Key

KPilot has a GPG key which is used for signing tarballs and similar important files; you should use this key to check tarballs downloaded from this site for integrity. You can fetch the key from from this page. The pilot-link site has a good page on the importance of integrity-checking, with the GPG key for pilot-link as well.

Thanks

KPilot couldn't exist without the pilot-link library, which does the lower-level communication with the handheld. Many thanks to David Desrosiers for maintaining that project.
