Games I've actually played: ========================== D&D
AD&D Ars Magica Call of Cthulu Vampire Shadowrun Cyberpunk Mage
The majority of my experience is in AD&D, Ars Magica and Call
of Cthulu. I enjoy Ars and Cthulu the most of any of them. The game
system lends itself well to roleplaying. Character concept:
================= Description: ----------- Jared stands 5'11" tall,
his frame is thin and wiry. A mop of slightly greasy sandy-blonde
hair is atop his head. The hair hangs down into his face, almost
hiding his ice blue eyes beneath his thin brow. He has two hoop
earrings in his left ear, and an earring in the shape of a smiley
face in his right. His v-shaped jaw is well set and very
pronounced. His favorite atire is jeans and a t-shirt, with an over
shirt of some kind, be it a sweat-shirt or a button up, thrown over
it. He always wear vans shoes no matter what the occasion. His
fingers are much like the rest of his frame, long and thin.
Background: ---------- As long as Jared could remember, his one
true desire was to be able to preform magick. He had spent hours as
a child trying to learn the simple slight-of-hand maneuvers that
most people accept as magick. Gradually, Jared came to realize that
this wasn't all of it, surely it couldn't be. During his teenage
years he experimented with tarot cards and read many books on
various oddities such as ESP. He became possessed with the need to
know. As he entered his late teens, his beliefs began to falter. It
just seemed like what his parents had told him was true. There was
no 'True Magick', just the slight-of-hand and escape tricks he'd
learned as a child. Back to my commentary: ---------------------
This is the point I'd like to start Jared at. Whether he actually
gets to be a mage or not is up to you. I heard you wanted to play
mortals, and I believe this character will work either as a mortal
or a beginning mage. I recently picked up the Mage book and have
been reading it in my off time. I've got some of the background.
